What a piece of nonsense!!

What a carry on!  I've just spent over 4 hours trying to add a 'pay now' button for my classes onto this blog!  FOUR HOURS  what a complete waste of time.... I could have been crafting instead!  Well after four hours, switching the computer off, restarting it and still having problems.... I could see the button, but would it do what it was supposed to do..oh no, that would be too simple... and after much shouting at the computer screen, one of my daughters decided that it was about time to try and help me (before I threw the computer out the window) and guess what.... after a couple of clicks on the computer she got it to work!!!  And I thought I was quite computer literate too! I'm going to stick to my crafting and she can do the technical bits!

Now done to the real business - I've updated my classes page.  The next class will be on 6th September and I am hoping that there will be some new faces there.  I've had a few enquiries via www.meetup.com/Crafting-with-Thistle-Crafts so fingers crossed.

Last night I spent quite a few hours making some cards for the people at my work - 17 cards to be exact and even then I still have another 6 or so to do.  I have taken some photos but I am so fed up with the computer tonight that I'll keep the photos and post them the next time.

Sorry for moaning tonight but hopefully I have it all sussed now and it will be easier the next time.

Big Shot Workout!

I had another class on Tuesday night and we called it 'Big Shot Workout'.  Oh boy, did we have fun!  The possibilities are endless and the only problem was that we ran out of time - again!  I think I'll need to have another Big Shot Workout soon!

This is just one of the cards that we made.  One of the 'girls' brought along some 'fern' that she had punched out for us all so I am going to add a few sprigs of fern to my card (the photo was taken before the class - so watch out for the 'after' photo).

Ok, here goes!

I've been shamed into this! It is all a bit scary just now but I'm told it gets easier as it goes on!  Feels a bit daft talking to the laptop!

Last week at our class we made cards for charity.  Stampin' Up! have brought out a stamp set called 'Strength and Hope' and for each set purchased they will donate £1s to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  The 'girls' in the class all made 3 cards for themselves and then made lots more that we are donating to a local Cancer Research shop.  I had cut and chopped card and ribbon beforehand so that they had plenty of time to make lots and lots of cards and oh boy they did just that!  Between them they made over 30 more cards!  An absolutely fantastic effort from them all.

Don't they look fantastic?  I am so proud of them all and of all their hard work that night!  The girls done well!  Well i've put envelopes with them and packaged them all up now.  Just to take them to a local Cancer Research shop.

If you would like to join our band of happy crafters (no experience needed, we cater for all abilities) then please contact me.  Also, if you would like to host a workshop or perhaps a party to raise money for charity then again, please get in touch with me and I'd be happy to discuss it with you.

Just Learning!

Hi there,

Oh dear! what have I started? Thought I'd start a blog - first time, they said it would be easy, but i'm not so sure! Maybe once I get the hang of it I'll be fine.

Anyway, I have just signed up to become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator - yipee! I'm so excited about this and just can't wait until my goodies arrive. In the meantime I'll need to spend a little time on here to work out what I can do with this blog.
